Lost In The Woods

Picture 005 3 (4)

This is called “Lost in the Woods.” It’s Sharpie, spray paint and paint pen on canvas, and measures 24×24. I went on and on with it and finally made myself stop by writing “Fin.” That was it. There are eyes, leaves, horseshoes, rocks and flowers. Like being lost in the woods, swirling paths and sun and confusion. It’s available in the shop.

I spent a lot of time while living in Mendocino wandering around the headlands there. And now am in the Sierra Nevada foothills and sometimes take my 10 month old out for a morning drive and we discover new waterfalls and tree-lined single-lane roads to ramble down.

Already one of my favorites. I know you have some works completed on wood; have you ever tried plaster?

I haven’t tried plaster. It seems that plaster may be more porous. I guess I could prime it first with some Gesso.

Porosity might be good, absorbing and modifying the color. Or even try it on wet plaster, the original art of frescoes. You could be Michelangelo of the mountains… OK, the foothills.

Anyway…your work is fun, filled with life!
