Monkey’s Nose

Kodak 030

This is “Monkey’s Nose.” He is 20×20 and made of spray paint, acrylics and my trusty Sharpie.

The monkey happened by chance - my son painted green on a canvas and I saw the face shape and traced it out. It was flawless. I can’t quite place what character it is though, it seems to remind me of something from my childhood - perhaps a book? Pinocchio/Curious George cross? He’s so familiar.

He’s got a mossy Fu Manchu and vines coming out his nose, maybe he’s been in the woods for many, many decades. He can come home with you from the shop.

You mention using a Sharpie quite often but I forgot to ask you which ones you like to use?

And here’s a sample of some acrylic on Yupo… http://www.carlamiedema.com/AfterTomThomson.JPG

Also, while having a cup of chai today at a new coffee shop, I spotted some ‘graffiti’ art hung right on the wall next to my table…and it had been done on a hardboard or masonite surface.

To me he looks like the Grinch from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
